A Twitch streamer has accepted a fine of DKK 10,000 (($1,457) from The Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) for advertising unlicensed gambling providers on the streaming site.

This is the first time the Danish Gambling Authority has reported and fined a streamer in a case on illegal gambling adverts.

The streamer is being fined for advertising a gambling provider on their live stream without a Danish licence. Both the gambling provider and Twitch streamer have not been named.

Following the spotting of nefarious behaviour, the streamer was reported to the police for breaching local gambling advertising regulations.

Since then, the police agreed with the regulator that the streamer violated the law and the amount recommended (DKK 10,000) by the Danish Gambling Authority was fined to the streamer for the breaches.

Recently,Table games The Danish Gambling Authority notified the public that it had blocked 49 illegal websites in an annual cull. Betfair was also recently reprimanded for breaches of Denmark's AML Act, and was issued three orders and a reprimand for the breaches.

Betfair was given a three-month deadline to correct the first two orders and 12 months to submit documents for the third.

To prevent gambling advertisement on its site, Twitch added Blaze and Gamdom to list of prohibited sites.

Twitch’s motive for banning gambling sites is to ‘protect its community’ (from gambling-related harms), ‘address predatory behaviour’ and ‘make Twitch a safer place.’
