The Gaming Authority in the Netherlands, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has imposed a penalty on Casbit Group NV for offering illegal games of chance on the lala.bet website.

The KSA has called on Casbit to cease offering online casino gaming without a licence.

The KSA states: “Strict rules and regulations apply to offering games of chance with a permit. These are aimed at providing a safe legal offer, where players are assured of fair play and are protected against gambling addiction. Offering illegal games of chance undermines that system and the safety of the player and the KSA therefore strictly enforces this.”

Should the operator not comply with what has been asked by the KSA, it faces a penalty of €280,000 ($300,396.88) per week with a maximum of €840,000.

The KSA had previously informed Casbit its intention to impose an order subject to a penalty,Casino games with the response leading to the website being made inaccessible to players in the Netherlands. However, when the KSA re-inspected the website, access from the Netherlands was still a possibility which led to the penalty being imposed.

According to the KSA’s website, an objection has been lodged against the decision made by the body.

The Dutch Gaming Authority this week has also imposed a binding instruction on DigitalOcean, relating to two illegal affiliate websites.
